iPhone vs Samsung

I have decided to start my blog with a splash. Now, this is a hot topic in the tech community and I will try to be as neutral as possible (even though I am an Samsung guy). I will compare various aspects of each phone and you (yes, you the audience) can make your own choices based off of them. We will be comparing the latest and best phones of each lineup: the Note 20 Ultra and the iPhone 11 Pro Max

Software: The latest Samsung phones run Android 10.0. iPhones run iOS 14. They are very similar and one could say they are the same. They have improved off of each other's features and have very little differences. One should note that Apple has copied many more features of Android's than the other way around. However, Apple is also improving them far beyond what Google would do

Winner: Tie

Voice Assistant: Samsung phone's have two voice assistants: Google Assistant and Bixby Voice. Apple phones have Siri, but Google Voice can also be installed. Because of this, we are just going to compare Bixby Voice and Siri. Based on multiple people's account, mine included, Bixby is much slower at listening to commands and responding. It sometimes never even hears commands! Siri is much faster and has more capabilities.

Winner: Apple

Camera: The Note 20 Ultra has 4 cameras, 1 front-facing and 3 rear-facing, and a maximum of a 50x zoom. The iPhone 11 Max has the same number of cameras, but only a 10x zoom. The Samsung also has a 108 MP wide angle camera, a 48 MP telephoto camera, and a 12 MP ultra-wide angle camera. In comparison, the iPhone has three 12 MP cameras. This huge advantage for the Samsung allows it to take photos and videos in 8K. There is only one drawback to the clarity of Samsung photos. Some people say that the color isn't balanced correctly and it makes the photo look strange, but that's purely personal preference.

Winner: Samsung

Screen: The Samsung has a 6.9 inch OLED screen with around 500 pixels per inch. It also has a refresh rate of 120 Hz (a larger refresh rate means it lags less). The iPhone has a 6.5 inch OLED screen with 450 pixels per inch. It has a refresh rate of 60 Hz and doesn't curve at the edges.

Winner: Samsung

Storage and RAM: The Samsung can have a maximum RAM of 12 GB (a larger RAM means the phone can run more apps at once) and a maximum internal storage of 512 GB. The iPhone has a RAM of 4 GB and a maximum storage of 512 GB. While they have the same internal storage, the Samsung can add more storage through a microSD card slot that the iPhone doesn't have.

Winner: Samsung

Price: The Samsung Note 20 Ultra has a starting price of $1400 for 128 GB of storage and 12 GB of RAM. The iPhone 11 Max Pro has a starting price of $1100 for 64 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM. Even though the Samsung is more expensive, you also get a lot more in terms of storage and RAM.

Winner: Samsung

Processor: The Samsung has either a Snapdragon 865 Plus (in the US) or a Exynos 990. These are very similar to Apple's A13 Bionic chip.

Winner: Tie

So, as you can see Samsung is superior to iPhone in almost every aspect. But, as I said before, the choice is yours. Choose what phone you think is best!
